A Comprehensive and Compassionate Approach to Reproductive Health
Infertility
Infertility is defined as the inability to achieve pregnancy after 12 months of regular, unprotected intercourse (or after 6 months in women over age 35). It affects approximately 10–15% of couples and can result from a wide range of female, male, or combined factors. As both a medical condition and a deeply personal experience, infertility requires a compassionate, evidence-based, and multidisciplinary approach.
In females, common causes of infertility include ovulatory disorders (such as polycystic ovary syndrome), tubal pathology, endometriosis, and diminished ovarian reserve. In males, sperm abnormalities related to count, motility, or morphology often play a role. A thorough evaluation of both partners, including hormonal assessments, imaging studies (e.g., pelvic ultrasound, hysterosalpingography), semen analysis, and sometimes advanced diagnostics—is essential for guiding effective treatment strategies.
Management options are individualized based on the underlying cause, patient age, and reproductive goals. Treatment may include lifestyle optimization, ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination (IUI), or assisted reproductive technologies (ART) such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). Advances in reproductive endocrinology, including genetic testing, fertility preservation, and minimally invasive surgical techniques, continue to improve outcomes and expand options for patients.
Infertility care should also address the emotional, psychological, and financial challenges often associated with the diagnosis. Integrating mental health support, clear communication, and shared decision-making is critical in supporting individuals and couples throughout their fertility journey.
While Full Circle Premium Health does not do IUI (yet), IVF, or ART procedures, they are well-connected in the area and often stay on as the women's Midwife once pregnant.
When to Seek Help?
If you’ve been trying to conceive for 12 months (or 6 months if over age 35) without success, or if you experience irregular cycles, painful periods, or known reproductive health concerns, it may be time to consult a provider.
A compassionate, timely evaluation can help identify the underlying cause and guide you toward the right support and treatment options.
